KESES is a society of like minded surgeons specialized in gynaecology.Our society is now in its 11th year of existence and has been at the forefront in propagating change and Minimal Access Surgery in Kenya. Our small membership has slowly gained confidence and ground has been instrumental in disseminating skills and enthusiasm amongst its membership so as to encourage training in providing safe Laparoscopic Surgery to our patients.
KESES strives to become a recognized provider of superior opportunities for one to acquire life-long learning opportunities and expanding educational offerings. KESES members aim at acquiring skills at the same time welcoming new members with new ideas, encourage an academic hierachy and be all-inclusive and supportive of each other.
The Kenya Society of Endoscopic Specialities was registered as a Society in 2006. Since its inception it has partnered with various institutions that are keen to achieve the same goals as them. This includes having hosted the 3rd Global African meeting of ISGE in 2015 and the Annual Week of Healing where KESES Surgeons dedicate a whole week to performing free surgeries in Rural Kenya. In 2015 they performed over 350 free surgeries in rural Mombasa and in August of 2016 assisted in 50 surgeries in Sagam, Kisumu.The Society was established as a means for the Group to regulate and promote accreditation of Endoscopic Surgeons , benchmark Kenyan medical skillset to global standards, encourage a new generation of young surgeons to embrace technology and streamline community outreach activities so as to achieve the highest impact.
